- Died in Sunnyside Assylum of lung disease. Linwood Cemetary registrar says she had been in the province for 27 years, which puts her date of arrival at 1865, 4 years after Thomas. She was buried in the same plot as Thomas. The fee was one pound, two shillings and sixpence and the informant was their son, James.
Her death notice in the Lyttleton Times, Sep 1892 "The friends of the late Mary Fogarty are respectfully informed that her funeral will leave her late residence 17 Creek St, off Montreal St for the Catholic Church and public cemetary at 1pm. W. Lagford, undertaker.
